tlehnhaeuser
Hello All, I'm looking tp put together an external linking document and would like to get as much feedback as possible. First off, Can anyone detail the proper workflow for external linking so as not to get caught in the internal loop problem? I have the main idea, I just want to confirm. Looking for any issues, problems, tips, etc.. to make this a complete document. Thank you Tom
Marcus Bertilsson
I just want to say one thing. Whatch out for more than one level referencing. It is so hard to control them. In the begining I used a lot of them, but I have changed to have copys instead. Also be careful with the "insert" and turning of the check mark "link". It will only break link in one level, so you can still have links under it. This have drive me nuts. / Marcus
tlehnhaeuser
Thanks Marcus for the input. I need to expand this topic for a client having revision control problems. Can anyone provide the proper worflow for revisioning files with external links? In other words, what is the best approach to maintaining the x-links but keep a copy of the cad data for every revision made Any feedback is welcomed. tom

I would even put that as a rather high priority ER. Beat
