Template File Size

I am creating some new templates for use with version 8.0 PU1 Hotfix#2 and when I add my company logo, a 250kb jpeg, the size of the template file jumps from 90kb to 23Mb! Any ideas how I can keep this size down? And why so big anyway?

Try adding the logo to the Blank Drawing, then save and check filesize. If it is still large please send that file to support@ironcad.com so we can analyze it further.

 

If the Blank with logo is small we need to look at what else might be in your template, that file size is not normal.

what's the best way to put the logo in? create->object->create from file

That's a good way if it inserts at a decent quality.

 

One other method is to draw a rectangle, then right click it to Fill Style, Image Texture.

Here is an example,

default IC blank drawing size 2k

image 7k

blank drawing + image 1.8M

 

i tried both methods of import and they result in the same problem

Go ahead and use the filled rectangle method. I'm told the each system handles inserted objected differently due to whatever software is the default for that file type. I'm seeing a 50K file from blank + image with the rectangle Fill method.
