Chris Lohman
I just worked through a very interesting speed problem with someone and am posting it here. The symptoms are, IronCAD is running well for ever, then suddenly it's much slower. Looking back, AutoCAD (or most likely an AutoCAD *like* product) was recently installed. So what we found was by editing the PATH system environment variable and moving the IronCAD entries from the end to the beginning (just after the %system%) stuff then rebooting, the IronCAD loading performance was greatly improved. As for editing the PATH environment variable, if you don't know exactly how to do this I would recommend you consult with your systems administrator before doing so. You could potentially damage something if you're not careful.
gjones
What operating system is being used and also is Ironcad being run off the harddrive or a network? I would like to know how much this affects the speed.
Chris Lohman
In that case it was windows 2000 running IC locally. Running anything across a lan will impede it's performance. IronCAD is -only- intended to run locally.
