tlehnhaeuser
For those on "low-end" workstations (not enough RAM) who typically wait for the models to constantly regenerate, heres a quick tiip for you. When possible, SUPPRESS all the features (intellishapes) you want to modify first. Then modify all the features in the supressed mode. Once you are done with all your changes UNSURPRESS all the features. IMPORTANT, before unsurpressing turn your part to uncheck "Allow Reorder" ability so you don;t have to worry about the order in which you unsurpress the intellishapes. By modifying features in a surpressed mode, the model will not regenerate itself constantly. Although this method doesn;t allow you to see you changes in real-time will definitely save enought time in regenerate speeds that you could go back and tweak them if necessary. Hope this helps some. Alex Khenkin
"Options"-"Parts"-"Wait to Regenerate" also helps. Alex
mmccall
Yes.. works really well... Be careful when working with steps or other DFM models... if the shapes are complex and you are stacking alot of features on it.. be ready to save often and expect to see that "failed to save" error... BAM... your model is JACKED !!.. hope you can cut and paste into a new session... Just save "A, B, C..." versions along the way...
