Injection Mold- Draft Analysis & Complex Pl

Recommended Posts

A client just sent some parts that require non planar parting line detection and I want to do draft analysis after a very embarrassing draft oversight on a recent mold.

I know Think3 has had these tools for years, SolidWorks has molding tools and I think SolidEdge does too.

What do you guys think is the best bang for the buck? As much as I love IronCAD these parts are just too complex and this customer is too important to use anything less than molding specific tools.

Thanks,

Don

From what I have read, Solid Edge has the best surface capabilities and mold making tools, however, I think it is an add-on.

I had a similar issue and had the Solid Edge guy come out and he knew nothing about surfacing or mold making, so I got turned off, by them.. I switched to Rhino and have been blown away by the power of free form surfacing and modeling capabilities..
