don_temple Posted October 21, 2004 Share Posted October 21, 2004 I've been running IC on an Athlon 64 for several months now. Version 6.1 worked fine. I only recently installed v7.1 but so far, so good. I have not tried the 64 bit version of windows yet. I wouldn't necessarly recommend paying extra for a 64 bit system unless you will use its enormous addressing capabilities but if an AMD 64 is available for the same price as an intel chip of similar clock speed (power rating) I say try the AMD.
