mgajewski
I am considering installing Service Pack 2 for Windows XP Pro. Has anyone encountered any problems with IronCAD after installing SP2?
Floris Stam
I only know it didn't go very well with ATI Graphics Drivers, so I haven's updated my system yet.
handersson
It will set 60 days of Trial days to 0 days left (if IC is not reg. yet or dongle activated). A process used by Network license is stopped due to higher security, easy fixed by allowing it again. This is only interesting if using Network licensing. regards Henrik
Guest Urban Olars
It will also set the 60 days trial for the Pro/E Granite translator to 0 days left.
Chris Lohman
So if you're not running an ATI X2 256T card, and you're not relying on any of the trial licenses; then SP2 is fine. If you are running an X2 256T card then wait until the next ATI driver release; which should occur at the end of this month.
Guest svangeldern
I have an ATI mobility radeon 7500C in my laptop and have noticed the following after installing SP2: Sometimes switching from a drawing to a scene the toolbars change correctly but the drawing is still visible. A pan, zoom or orbit usually brings the scene into view. Sometimes in a scene when I choose to edit a 2-d profile the scene becomes corrupted. A pan, zoom or orbit will correct this as well. These problems were non-existent before SP2. Cylinder Steve
Chris Lohman
Ahh so the ATI problems persist beyond the X2 256T. (Come to think of it, I think Floris already told me about this, I forgot) Steve if you pull down tools/options/rendering; uncheck automatic, check software, then [ok] out; those redraw problems "should" go away (at the expense of not using OpenGL); if it becomes a major problem for you before the new drivers release.
