TFay
Has anyone had an issue with IronCAD drawing section views being poorly rendered (faceted) if there are parts of both acis and parasolid modeling kernels in the model? I can change the view quality to precise and the geometry then renders as it should, but the hatch lines still follow the poorly rendered model. I've attached a pdf showing this in a test drawing. In the past, we've changed the parts in the model to use the same modeling kernel and then its a non issue, but we have recently started using DDM PLM software and with certain access controls, this option will not be as easy to do moving forward. We are currently using IronCAD 2021, but had seen this in previous versions as well. Section_Faceting.pdf
IronKevin
Keep the View in Draft mode but increase the Surface Smoothness on the part(s) - Right-click a part and go to Rendering. You can set the default Surface Smoothness for new parts in Options, Parts.
TFay
This happens regardless of what the surface smoothness is set to. I have set my default surface smoothness to 45 for new parts and I've increased it up to 120 in the past to see if it would fix the issue, but it does not. The only way that we have been able to fix it in the past is to change the modeling kernels to be consistent within a scene.

Cary OConnor
Select the view and change it to Precise (versus Draft). That will generate the true curves and not the facet.
TFay
Yes, this does generate the true curves, but the hatching in the section view still follows the faceted geometry and not the true curves. In some drawings it's not as noticeable, but in others it is obvious and doesn't look good. If the modeling kernel is changed to be consistent in the scene, then with draft view the true curves are shown and the hatching is also correct. Cary OConnor
Yes we see that as well. R&D will need to look into why the hatch is not updating properly.

IronKevin
You might need this option on:
TFay
It was the hatch accuracy button that I needed to have selected. That looks to have fixed the issue. I was hoping it was something simple, and it was. Thank you.
