Thank you for the responses.
To clarify, I am actually trying to divide or cut a single shape into multiple segments.
For simplicity I said it was a solid disk, but in reality it will be a pre-exisiting design (imported parasolid) of an automotive wheel. I need to cut the wheel into segments so I can apply forces and constraints in NEiNastran.
If I understand them correctly, both suggestions so far create the pie shapes from scratch - not by cutting or dividing an existing shape.
Anybody else have a suggestion?
All advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
-Geoff

Hello,
I am a newbie to IronCAD. I have INOVATE and I am looking for suggestions on what is the easiest way to take a solid disk and divide it up into equal pie shaped segments.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,

Hello All,
I own a full version of NEi Nastran for Ironcad, and I provide pro bono finite element analysis work as a way of developing my skills with this software. (Normally I use NX Nastran).
If you need any help analyzing your design, give me a shout or check out www.probono-fea.com.
With Fall right around the corner, I'm looking for new and interesting projects to help out on.
Thanks!

Thanks!
I will try that tonight.

Hello,
I use INOVATE to preprocess models for use in NEi Nastran.
Many times, I have a single assembly in the scene and this assemply has multiple components. Say, for example, I want to split the whole assembly in half to create a symmetric model. The only way I know of, is to use the Split Part command for each part. This means creating a box that intersects each part to establish the cut surface. So if I have six parts in the assembly, I have to do 6 Split Body commands.
There must be an easier way. Anbody have a suggestion.
THanks,
-Geoff

Hello All,
I am a new user of INOVATE 2012 and NEi Nastran. ( I also bought the "Basic Unlock" so I am not limited to 10k nodes.)
Just curious if anybody else has started using it (10k or unlocked) and what are their impressions of the software and / or the support from NEi Software.
My opinion is that the software has potential, but is buggy (first release). And the support from NEi needs improvement.
Your Thoughts?
