  1. This how it should look. It is still a work in progress vertigo
  2. Thanks to all for the help. I am trying to do a tutorial for this. And your suggestions will do help. Here my work in progress I was able to convert the center 2D profile to 3d curve but the left most 2D profile didn't covert correctly. In previous work in progress using the 3D polyline over this profile as guide gets it done. I will integrate all you have helped me with. Regards to all
  3. Thanks Kevin. I tried something but getting there test_3.ics
  4. Is there a better way of routing electrical wiring and hydraulic hoses through or along other components. 3D curves or 2D sketch and convert to 3D as guides. Working with 3D curves is nice but hard to control. Getting to close to hatch a vertigo attack. Regards, Joseph
  5. Please refer to the updated customize sheet and table pdf - regards
  6. Thanks to Cary and Bill. Please refer to this one. Customize_tool_table.pdf
  7. Thanks Bill and will pass it on and again will modify the notes on my pdf.
  8. Thanks Cary for pointing this out. I will pass it on and this something I have failed to look upon. I will correct the pdf guide. By the way, if I load the StocktblMetricEU.txt as it is, it gives me flag as error in near line 56 message but doesn't occur with StocktblMetricUS.txt. I have read both txt files and the difference between them is that the EU version used comma as decimal separator, while the US used the period as decimal separator. Could this be the cause? Again, regards and thanks - joseph Corrected to near line 56
  9. I made an instruction to customize the stock table txt. When I checked the tooltbl.txt, it seems be the same as the stocktbl.txt. Any information about this is fully appreciated. Regards, joseph
  10. I had to explore how to add sheet metal stock as a client found the list less than what they use. So I made this guide to add. Hope this helps everyone and maybe also contribute to the material list. Thanks and regards to IC dudes joseph Customize_sheet___tool_table.pdf
  11. In the earliest version of IronCAD, parts created with IronCAD seems to generate that data. I've discovered lately if it tick box at the size box part properties, it does generate the the right overall dimension. Just don't modify or pull a handle as in the intellishape or add intelligence after you have box the item. I just don't have a file from Rhino right now, but I think the same process should apply. I did it on an inventor file from grabcad recently and was trying to add it this thread but it just won't for some reason. Regards Joseph
  12. Thanks, I will try it again. It took me almost a day doing this cord. I was using the feature lofts, maybe use the method Allen suggested. Thanks all
  13. I am trying to wound this cord on my model an can't get it smooth enough. I have used sweep, loft and spin as it tried to mimic how this cord will twist naturally. I can't use the the 3d curve with the sketch of the profile of the cord since the blended edges connections are present. A circle or ellipse may have work, but it is not the true profile I am trying to convey. Is there a better way to this? Any suggestions or technique is much appreciated. regards - joseph
  14. This may be related to problems that I had but on a different output intent: http://www.ironcad.com/support/community/i...?showtopic=9486 http://www.ironcad.com/support/community/i...?showtopic=9514 This drove me to this thread. Switching to renderer to OpenGL, OpenGL2, Direct X and display list produce different results with export image. As I was to figure out what I did, I first did a screen capture via printscreen sys and paste at paint and save as png and compared it with the export image from IC. Sometimes the rendering features on the performance options has to be set to get the right combination. I think what the gpu throws on your screen and what the software export does produces detail lags in between. Noteworthy features: use cached graphical display data, use visual load when opening files, hide small parts when fps is low, hide edge during rotation when fps is low and use low quality transparency effects when fps is low - a combination on this settings makes a differences on how large is the details you want to be seen as hidden and edge lines. The program on this is not my turf, but a slight rotation sometimes show what it did not display previously. While we are on this, nvidia display hidden and edges differently from amd/ati radeon too fine hidden and edge lines. Unfortunately tseng labs was gobbled up by ati, 3dlabs premedia lost its way with creative labs. This was with desktop graphics products not workstation class models. This makes me feel older
  15. Can you try exporting it at lower resolution than 1920x1080. Fine lines do disappear sometimes. I switched back to a 1600 x 900 monitor because this. regards
  16. Thanks for the fyi and possibilities to come. Regards
  17. Just like to know if I can add 2D traceparts on IC Drawing. It is already tick on the the add-ins but can't figure out to pull from as doing 2D drawings only. On IC, it opens the add-in screen but not on the IC drawing. Regards, Joseph
  18. Check this out:http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2014/04/01/philips-onespace-lighting-rig-makes-a-softbox-out-of-any-ceiling If we can model this with the same light properties we are there
  19. Hi Tom, Watt / lumens is an easier scale to understand. Like basic photography. I have attached a plug in from Philips that works with 3dMax: http://www.lighting.philips.com/main/conne...r_downloads.wpd http://www.relux.biz/index.php?option=com_...mid=200&lang=en http://www.dial.de/DIAL/en/dialux.html This will be great for expanding IC market with the ease of use. KeyShot have opened many doors. regards, joseph
  20. Hi Tom, Thanks to your work and unselfish ways
  21. So we had created it the wrong way? I'll try again, thank you for your helping hand It worked with your way. I can't understand where we went wrong. Really appreciate it so much The file size was inflated because of the data required for this. If it isn't critical the cosmetic thread must be used. filecushole.ics
  22. It also didn't work on my i5 notebook with Nvidia GTX520M, so it isn't a graphics hardware issue. fyi
  23. Thanks for the response I have tried the resolution and once I un-suppress the the thread15 from part 44 still not responding. I have the right build number: 11901. The only common hardware that I have with my customer is an AMD video graphics HD7770 on my workstation and HD 7570M on his laptop. I don't think it is a hardware issue.
