  1. My old notebook with Ryzen 5 2500U (with 1100 MHz Vega 8 Radeon W10 support only) 4C8T APU worked without a hitch compared Ryzen 7 7730U (with 2000MHz Vega 8 Radeon W11supported) 8C16T. To make my new notebook work, I have to disable Dynamic Mode in rendering compared with the old that worked off the bat.

  2. Just a brief on notebooks I had for years. I use the desktop 98 percent with IRONCAD and only 2 percent on a mobile notebook. My first one was an i5 with nvidia graphics in 2010, Ryzen 5 2500U in 2018 and Ryzen 7 7730U w/ OLED display this July. The i5 was okay but the it was on hdd that made it slow. Nvidia pull the plug on support for gpu early and the i5 gpu was the least. Surprisingly, the Ryzen 5 2500U apu did well but no longer supported.

Ryzen 7 7730U was a bit of a disappointment, as rotating/scroll zoom the model goes to a blank flashing white screen and the shaded with edges was not desirable at all. I have updated the the driver, no improvement and wifi was buggy. Was RMA 2 weeks ago and got back. The wifi part was replaced and OS re-installed. The shaded with edges got fixed but the flashing white screen on zoom and rotation still persist. KeyShot is okay though. Oh well, I have to write it down as a loss.

  3. Hi Kim,

When I am working with large files, I also encounter long loading and crash. What I've done is set my Options>Performance>Rendering> un-tick both : Use Cached Graphical Display Data and Use Visual Load when Opening Files. This settings eliminates errors/crashes on my end most of the time. Others may have a workaround on this though.

  4. Boot up this morning and pdf drawings worked correctly with current project.  Haven't cycled the sfc /scannow from last Friday's issue, however no other drawings were open at the same time at the moment. Will it be working with different project folders causing this problem?

    regards

  5. Oh I am here again for this topic. At work I am compelled/multi task to open 2 or more projects on top of what I am currently modelling and doing ICD sheet drawing. The multi task work involves updating the drawings  to export pdf which produce random pages with missing dimension lines and text. Re exporting to pdf change the random order in a set of 8 to 14 sheets. I have to save and close on what I am working on and close IC or reboot just to get it to work again. Using other pdf  apps like Foxit or MS Print to PDF takes longer to create with artifacts.

I have to ask our head office IT administrator to run sfc /scannow that actually does the fix but placed in the same situation, it does reoccur. There is no one in the IT support team that is familiar with IC.

We are are working on networked one drive and available to sharepoint for others to access the pdf file. As for the hardware, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with 16 GB ram on Windows 11, IC2022. We will migrate to IC2023 next week.

Working from home and storing the files locally or copying the files and doing the it on the notebook with local storage doesn't have this problem.

One frustration I am experiencing is that manager points it out as user error, which I believe is not the case. Either the PC is not up to multi-task or network issue that may cause a corruption on system to produce the pdf file.

I have other project engagements that are more complex with 30+ sheets that hardly have missing dimensions like this often. What I have raised before is that the BOM table changes in size in some pages if I select update all sheets.

  6. I just like to know if I can set Dynamic mode Target  Frame Rate  and Max Culling Threshold permanently on my new laptop. My 5 yr old HP laptop 16 GB ram with 1st gen Ryzen R5 2500U worked really good for my needs but the display is not at its best. I recently got a Asus with and OLED display, 16Gb ram with a rd3 gen Ryzen R7 7730U (suppose to be better clocked) seem to be a disappointment on my end.

It needs to be set low to be usable. :(

  7. I've voted but only made a comment at this time. I use mostly perspective switch off. It works with isometric view T.F_ and B.F, however if I leave the screen on those set view for a break or a call, I loose it and switch perspective or go back to Plan View to reorient my sense of space. I suffer from occasional vertigo if I am tired or the eye glass is out of alignment. Perspective is perfect for the finished assembly model. Regards and have the tune in our heads.

  8. Hi Team,

Just like to know if it possible to set the word Unfolded Sheet Metal Part convention to UF or UnF Sheet Metal Part on IronCAD without ICMechanical license or just the basic IronCAD installation. Thanks.

    regards.
