  1. If this is not imported facet model then it is simple - Part Properties > Rendering > Surface Smoothness....
  2. I'm sorry that I have no more time to dedicate to your problem. The biggest problem is that the model is not symmetric and that's a real problem with cutting particular peace.... That is the main reason way I was using `unusual strange technique` (I got `offline` question about that)
  3. no problem I`m glad if I can help a little... You can download the file with right click and Save target as.... This is just an a idea how to do such tricky cuts... This is workaround... If you like, when I found more time I`ll show you more ways to do similar tasks. You can `clean` splitting part by deleting, matching...critical faces to clean it some pointed corners.
  4. Finally!!! dleczynski send me good file via skype. tnx There are some critical points in the model. So, maybe I take some unusual approach..but it works... it could give you an a idea... here is a video: split3.mp4 and exported model since I`m using Beta2013 for now... Assembly9.sat hope this helps
  5. agrhh... still nothing... I'm losing patience here...
  6. Probably depends on the particular player.... For win media player maybe:
  7. I'm trying to load it with Beta2013 but getting message try to export to Parasolid or Acis...
  8. hm, I still having problem to open those files..... which version of IC
  9. I'm not sure that I really understand what you need. Is this what you mean ?? split2.mp4 P.S. Sorry I can not make a better video but I`m in the middle of a `project`
  10. I'm not sure that I really understand what you need. Is this what you mean ??
  11. tnx Usually I`m just modeling arch. interiors/exteriors... so I like to play with this kind of tasks.. and of course there is always a new idea or a bug to discover tnx ifitzpatrick... give us some more
  12. I`m Knocking myself out with this ! If you insist on your profile with 4 arcs, then one of solution would be this one... VanePump2_Ghost.mp4 -there is a `Ghost part` made from Project Constraint 3D geometry for Cam_path... note: - all parts should be the same kernel VanePump2_Ghost.ics - file is BETA2013#2 P.S. Mechanism mode works fine too...
  13. No. If you want to have tangent constraint to work for `inner circle` you need to have `clean` surface. The problem is in those tangent connection. I assume that this is a circle, so to do quickly, I have just delete those extra faces. Your `inner circle` is made of 4 arc. No matter they are tangent, 3D constraint will not work. It should but...... On a Part level, Position constraint will not see those line as smoothly connected. THIS PROBABLY SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS BUG So if you need to have some tangent lines try to draw them by Bspline.... use your existing arcs outline as construction line help....
  14. Mechanism mode should work too.... but only without quick sudden moves Mechanism_mode.mp4
  15. tangent breaks on inner circle can make the problem try this..... an idea... vanepump.mp4
  16. I`m waiting for this for a long time: simple doubleclick on edge for loop selection on view oriented face (primary face), then another doubleclick for loop on `secondary` face...
  17. try to convert .3ds to .obj It will work better that way Stone_wall_test344x300.rar
  18. Yes +1 for that, and if this does not work try to export to .dxf and reimport, that will make 'facets'
