  1. I would like to start using constraints on my assembly models as a means of guaranteeing that everything is assembled properly without any gaps or overlaps. This is easily accomplished IronCAD however, once I have an assembly model done I typically then make a configuration of it as an exploded assembly to be exported and put into our owners manual for the product so the end user of our products can easily see what parts they need to order. The problem is that IronCAD can't turn off the constraints in a given configuration globally, so as to be able to explode it in a different configuration. Does anyone know of a work around for this, or has anyone else encountered this challenge? Thanks for your thoughts.

  2. I have been linking files in IC since the beginning and have had very few problems. However I am very careful when linking them in. For instance, Say you link in part A. Now if you want to have another part A in the scene it is important to either do a insert link with the button or use the triball and COPY the part NOT link it. When you copy a linked part the link comes with it automaticly. If you have a linked part and you copy/link in the scene then you have a circular reference. These seems to cause issues. I am careful to avoid that and rarely have problems with linking. If you are doing large files and lots of links there is a 3MB switch you can set up that allows IC to work with a larger number of links.

  3. Has anyone seen a problem creating a custom title block in the drawing? I am creating one that is fairly complicated, and has lots of lines. When I try to save it I get the message "failed to save document." This only occurs after I go so far in the creation process. The point I have it at now, if I add even one straight line it will not save. Is there a limit on the number of lines you can put in a drawing?
