  1. Hi!

A customer recently had lots of problem updating ICD (created back in IC 10).

BOM did expand, dimensions lost attachment, custom properties gone etc.

This was caused by a Windows Update!

    Windows Update KB973923

    (security update..ms visual C++ 2005 sp1 . ..)

    Removing that solved the problem!

(It's possible to get a list of installed updates on your PC at Win. update and you can block this one from being installed)

  2. 2D Shapes created before PU1 can cause problem when opened in PU1.

We found that in some cases 2D shapes in a Scene caused problem,

when trying to create section in ICD.

This cases was in rather big assys, linked copies etc.

  3. Important: IC9 PU1

    In Tools/ Options/ Directories/ Working Directory:

if above is set to server etc. on Network- it may slow down opening.

Especially if there are external linked files.

If above is set your local PC - solves issue.

  4. One user has this situation, IC 7 PU1, HP DesignJet 750c 00, latest HP driver:

    - using std iso format for printing a4 - a0: No problem (on any printer).

    - to avoid "shrink" due to printer margins = to keep scale 1:1 on printed

paper, they use to set special paper size in printer dialog, slighly

    bigger than std.

    Result ok in IC 6.2.

    In IC 7 PU1 : application error

    - it seems that IC 7 is affecting printer driver in a way that IC 6.2 (and

    earlier) did not.

    - temp. work around, go thru PDF?

    regards

  5. Info from a user, this did work for them:

    1. XP with /3GB boot.ini + patch

    2. Get XP updates (from Microsoft online)

    3. Install IC 6.0 - No PU2(!), just 6.0.

No low memory probl. after this.

    No boot probl. after this.

  6. This is very useful method when trying out the stroke length of a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder, or place the attachments.

You can quick simulate the cyl. with a smart dimension to see the attachment move OR you can rotate the att. with Triball to see what length of cyl. is needed. Smart dim. can drive OR be slave!

You can even move around the place of attachments (intellishapes on plate).

You only need 2 constraints, It is Colinear and Align.

1: Coliear the Attachment to axle.

2: Align Attachment to end of axle (smart dim to 0 - not ok)

    3: Applie smart dim.

(The smart dim. must bee applied at same "plane" to be correct.)

Of course you may need to replace Smart dim with a Cyl. later on to see if it is space for it.

    regards

    Henrik

Set Cyl lenght w smart dim or use Tribal.ics
