  1. I have big power line towers with lattice work. Both methods sounds like they will not work very well. The shapes isn't in one plane. It will be alot of work project edges to a 2D-shape and then do something with that. Thank you anyway for the suggestion. Anyone else have any ideas? Otherwise I will post it as an ER. / Marcus
  2. Any ideas how to create a surface like that? It is like an assembly and everything that is solid shall be calculated as area and holes (no geometry) shall be as no area. It is very much like if you would put a light on the assembly and look at the shadow. Then it is the shadow I'm after. / Marcus
  3. Hi! I'm trying to find a way to meassure a projected area and its area center point. I have big steelstructures as frame or lattice work and need the projeced area and the centerpoint of that so I can then calculate windpressure acting on that. Anyone out there who know a metod? / Marcus
  4. Doesen't this work in the real mathematical way? If you shall have inside radius 0 you can't have the guidecurve in radius 0. You shall have the guide curve radius at the corner as the radius of the circuar sweep profile. You will then get inner R=0. Outher R=diameter of circuar sweep profile. It might be so that you need to put in a guidecurve radius that is something 0,001mm bigger so IC feels that the inner radius is bigger than 0. / Marcus
  5. I to have big problem with this that multi selected assemblies is impossible to suppress. Maybe this can be treated as a bug and can be fixed to IC9!? / Marcus
  6. Whooow! Sounds realy great. Can't wait to see it in action. This make me feel real interested of what more will come. Thank you for the good news. / Marcus
  7. Another issue but I couldent leave it unmenssioned. I see that you also maybe would like "chain-dimension" as an dimension option. In this case that would realy help. That is another ER for me that have been discussed erlier. / Marcus
  8. Hi Eric! There is a workaround. If you first make a point-point parallell dimension of a line in that angle that you want. Then you mark that dimension and right click and pick "Insert new", now you can pick the point you want. Then if wanted delete the first dimension. This is realy a workaround because you can not afterwards change the points for the dimension, it will then turn into a parallell dimension for the two new points. / Marcus
  9. Max, I hope that you use your time machine only for very important operations. Like getting information about IC V9
  10. So Mccall, are you back from the future
  11. I have asked for a stretch tool for cases like this. Because I to have alot of cases like this one. And I don't want to do it by parameters, that will be to complicated and hard to make big changes I think. I realy, realy hope that it will be included in V9 /Marcus
  12. Any news? When will you give us details? I fear for Carlo that he might starve / Marcus
  13. How is it with anchor point for the "assembly". Will it be placed in the global zero point? This is important so things doesent fly around in the next level of asssembly as external link. / Marcus
  14. Bi-ball yes! Long time since that was up in discussion. Good Mike that you bring it up again. Bi-ball would make life much easier I think. / Marcus
  15. Maybe 1 is the best. As it is today. Because we have variants of it. - Not in bom but visible on drawing. - not in bom not on drawing. / Marcus
  16. Hi I think it sounds realy good. I have been confused myself of this. How will it act on 2D-shapes, 3D-curves placed on top-level, will they also be treated as parts? They are sometimes there only as guides (not real parts) / Marcus
  17. I to miss that. A half way thing would be: If we at least could "project" the lines/areas for making the sheet curves that we would like to hatch. Wery much like the "project" tool in a scene on a cross-section. / Marcus
  18. It is from a 2D drawing in first hand. Is it possible to export to 3D dwg from IronCAD? / Marcus
  19. Hi! Is it possible somehow to always have a defined global zero point for a dwg output from a drawing? Why I'm asking is because I work in a team where AutoCAD also is used and we have desided that the global zero for this project (a Powerstation) shall be on one place so we can work individualy and then reference it togheter so we can see the whole thing. What I need is something like a anchor point that always get the cordinate 0,0,0 when exported to dwg.
  20. Same for me. 90% of the time I would like to draw straight lines. But after almost one year use of IronCAD I still forget to shift to line before use. And that means. I pick first point, I pick second point "damn" it ask for a third point, esc, pick "line" command ... pick the points again. Is it possible to asign hotkeys for this? if not its an ER! Like "L" for line B for Bspline C for circle A for arc And if the hotkeys for 3D-curve could be the same as for 2D-shape I would be even more happy. (For me it is the same tools with only a z-lock for 2D-shape) / Marcus
  21. Thanks IK! It works. Hope I can remember this to next time I need it. / Marcus
  22. Hi! Is it possible to have a leader and its text rotated 90°? / Marcus
  23. OK I see. Thanks for the answer. Then we will start the projects in IC V8/AutoCAD. Hope it will be easy to upgrade the drawings afterwards then. / Marcus
