  1. I must say that I realy love the new meassure tool!

But Is it possible to set the default for the "meassurement control"

I normaly would like to have "picked point" but the best would be last used.

  2. We use this when we have houses for exampel.

In the top view we dont want to see the roof but in a side view we will show it.

But maybe we can use another general view for that.

It is more important to be able to change config for section views! for the same reason as above.

  3. What I realy would like to be able do is this:

1 Select all part that you would like to move.

    2 Edit a smart dimension.

3 All objects that where selected are now moved in the direction of the smartdimension.

In this way it is wery controlled what will move and in what direction.

You dont need to have locks on dimensions so you are very free to do differet modifications.

But the best thing is that you dont need a design intent, that is where Ironcad realy can make a difference!

  4. I dont know if this is a bugg or if I'm only confused.

"use zero-width line" can be set both under sheet setup and when printing.

I have tested with all combination of this two.

    Sheet setup+Print

    off+off = show line-width

    on+on = show line-width

off+on = dont show line width

    on+off= dont show line width

It feels like it is working like a toggle.

Can someone please explain how it is supposed to work.

But if you ask me the most natural should be that the sheet-setup stear what you see on the screen and that the print stear only the output like paper or pdf output.

This is driving me crasy because most of the time I dont want to see the width when I'm working. But the output to paper or pdf is more or less only with linewidth.

Export to dwg on the other hand shall most of the time have no width.

  5. Yeah it is not a combo of the two.

We achieve the perspective by zoom. To change the distance, you need to move the Camera (dolly). Sort of like a real camera really.

It would be realy good if there was an option to get more fall of "perspective" with everyting stretch around a picked center, so the geometry at that center is keept at the same hight on the screen.

Today I think making for example a "foto match" is realy a pain and take a lot of time to get right, but with this method that would be wery easy.

Microstation had this method and it was realy a time saver.

  6. We use this metod alot but what we do is making the first consepts in AutoCAD. It is partly because there are others involved that use only 2D.

We get a portion of a map for example where we shall place the buildings, and we maybe also get drawings of other buildings, all as 2D dwg.

What I realy would like to have is the possibility to have a dwg as a link so if I change the dwg it update in the scene. And it should look the same in IC as in AutoCAD keeping linetype and anotations.

In this way we could corporate more having realy good 3D/2D power.

  7. I have now splached our new server with beer but it only gets smoky here smile.gif

    Na, thanks anyway Mike.

We do have all latest things installed: IronCAD 9.0 Product Update 1 Hotfix 1

  8. We shifted server some days ago and the new server has got a new name. After this we have serios troubles.

All our drawings have lost its assosiations to the scenes.

If I hit ctrl+shift+l the scene is "unvail" and cant be updated. So I have to manually look up the file again.

Any body familar with some medicin for this?

  9. Do you have the little icon in your tray and pop-up that tells you MS updates are avialble?

Well heres something intersting. My IT guy said to keep updated  so I have ans sytem has been working well.

In recent weeks the system has really gotten slow. and din;t know the cause.

Well I go to hit theta update thingy againa and notice MS has a update called WGA which basically allows MS to check your system if you OS is bootleg or not. So I hit it to see what happens. Guess what....the syteme still worked and I guess my OS is legit.

Heres the observation, now my system has gaines a tremendously increase in speed again. Hah? what?

Could it be that billy boy embeds a "governor" in the updates that slows your system until you install the WGA update?

Don;t know for sure but its quite a coincidence don;t you think.

Aha is that the cause maybe why my system is runing slow?

I have got this windows update indicator but I havn't have the guts installing it because it feels scary, that big brother is wathing you.

  10. I dont know where to talk about this but anyway.

    - When opening a ics-file with Modelpress the model is always rotated wrong, differet than in IronCAD. Also the top, front view etc doesent match.

    - 3D curves are not vissible. Big wish that they are vissible!

  11. The drop-down remembers the last 5 entries you've made.

    16813[/snapback]

Are they stored in the file or in the system?

If they are stored in the file this might be a drawing template issue, that the 5 last values in the template file is shown.

    Only an idea.
