Hi somebody needed a 3d dxf I guess to open in Archicad...
So I exported....but all files were very problematic...not able to render and so on.
I tested both versions 3d face/ polyline mesh looks the same
I realized that it looks like a limitation?
So I exported to Rhino by STEP and from there a: dxf-solid 2007 option, that works perfect and the other person is happy.
It looks like the solid option is missing.
I work with IC 2020, was there an update meanwhile?

So finally: The Bezier curves in the cross section is the better choice!
That works easy and perfect.
By the way: In earlier versions mesh surface creation was sometimes a problem cause the curves were splitted. (like the shape in the picture, the outline separated in several curves)
Todays the merge curve does a perfect job, and it works perfect! (I select merge curve, simply select the edges and it creates the one curve! = fantastic)
Thank you!

Yes Cary is right, I remember the 3d pdf. Which was often fine,.
I guess there where more ways? 7 days is to short cause we need it for about 2 month, while upbuilding a huge exhibition.
(my IC on the Laptop is too old)

I remember there are several ways to get out for presentations. aso. ....but forgot them.
Actualy I have a huge file to send someone in 3d.
Also I would like to have it smaller as a help when building up (on the limited Laptop)
Is there a tutorial or a place on the site where this several methods are comapared?

Thanks Kevin
I did so...
then the twist steps back to the next camera.
I also deleted parts of the path and made it new.... still the twist....
I ll try again
-
I did now I can handle it.
But I have a strange twist.....at the end
-
Im sorry
....but here is the next strange thing.....the camera and the path are on different locations....
It looks good but the the camera comes from far away
-
Thank you so much Kevin
Yes the bug doesnt make it easier.
Still I do not understand why I have to select New path then add next path before I did something
I try
Thank you so much!

I want to animate a camera.
Found this tutorial: Animating A Camera - YouTube ...looks good
Remember I did it in earlier years....
But the dialog window is different (IC 2020)
Then: I can only select parts but not cameras!
I want to make a walk through.....

Dear Cary
It is just a test file simply 2 curves (one spltted now) but still the same)
Here it is.
PS I run a special Bug Repaired Version of IC maybe this causes some problems?2 Curves.ics

Thank you all
I can split the curve with a surface...so I got the point.
Didnt work with curves for a longer time so I forgot....I am getting old
Kevin yes you are right. I come back when I get some of my ERs :-)
-
Ah I can copy the curve and Split the second curve....that works fine

Thank you Cary
The funny thing is I have not activated the endpoint snap (as you can see)
1st Attach works OK
2.nd goes to endpoint
3th is OK see movie
But it looks that the activated Snap Intersection produces this...
A bug?
Strange shape behaviour
