  1. Thanks Mike I found none of this bin directory. Also I am very careful to do something in the programme files. If this is the only way to have mm stock this is an urgent development request! We would need the metal sheet stock handlyng similar to the catalog handling. Ironcad needs a place where I can set a stock like it works with catalogs. ...and we (Europe) need it in mm! Best regards Carlo
  2. You can change it by default over the stock properties sheet at Tools/options. You have to do it before you drag a sheetmetal in the sceene. Or at part level by right click /properties/sheet matal. But I found just a stock for USA Is there also a stock for Europe in mm? Like 1mm Aluminium
  3. Hi Chris This looks great! Will it be in the file (to send with the file) or as a free standing free viewer to download at ironcad.com? A look at the Icons: Seems as if the client has the possibility to overwrite with a pencil...this would be great! Nervously waiting on that! Carlo
  4. Yes please! Pespective view in drawings!
  5. Very nice! But the idea seems to be stolen from the swiss artists Fischli & Weiss. They made exactly the same with trash, Fire , water ...aso. They became very famous in the art scene for that some years ago. Here is one link on movies of them: http://www.tcfilm.ch/lauf_txt_d.htm Fischi & Weiss ...on google are many links to them Carlo
  6. Great Idea I love the little movies that IC made for the new tools, these are very helpful to me. Sometime I miss such for the complicate thing like rendering, export, BOM, animation....the very technical things. But I watch them all cause there are many different ways to do the work.
  7. Hi Chris I am happy and impatiently waiting on the alpha release of IC 7. Can we run it separately to IC 6 like another CAD ( for the case of problems) ?
  8. Tom your`re wrong this just shows how easy Iron Cat is in use! Maybe we are much less clever than we think we are. :-) Carlo
  9. Dave I agree 100%. I like IC cause it is so easy in handling, positioning and so on. For an artist and designer IC may be the best CAD overall cause of its intuitive way and cause of the intelligence of its shapes and the scene browser. I hope it wont become more complicate, no mathematic overkill. At Smart dimensions I wish other options like: 1. Shortest distance on a cylinder or cone or any shape. 2. Perpendicular on a face But overall there are still important things not working like: dxf ex / import! Karthago! Â…and many missing tools like unfolding of any developable face.
  10. You hit the point. I never understood how this is working, well I didn`t care to much. Anyway I often set a smart dimension and edit it later. This is perfect working and some faster than the Triball. Smart Dimension is perfect to arrange holes in a sheet. By the way I remember that smart dimension between 2 H Zylinders may fail. Am I right?
  11. I use them both. It depends on what I want to do. I like it how it is.
  12. www.hoops3d.com I work well with this one for Acis Attention: Scene export from Acis to Acis will be different than Parasolid to Acis. Parasolids to Acis will give green parts instead of the right color.
  13. Here it opened first the Microsoft picture editor, or adobe Illustrator, Then I had to close it and with some luck I found the Logo on the sheet. But it failed with adobe. But it woked with the BMP
  14. That worked! ...some tricky but it worked. Thanks Mike
  15. I use Rhino for unfolding faces. I export with step. Rhino integration does not work perfect with unfolding operations. Import to Rhino works great ( care about the dimensions) But re-import to Iron Cad should insert a copy of the original face. With unfolded faces it will fail.
  16. How can I import a logo on a drawing? A .jpg or .tif or something like that.
  17. Thanks Tom , any idea what the Iron wood solution can do? I am just curios. but sometime ago showed IC to a wood-man. thanks Cary: to me: I do not use configurations normaly Best Carlo
  18. Unfortunately its all in italy! But they do good things. Anyway suppress / unsuppress all others should be in IC 7. Best Carlo

Hi David Welcome to Iron CAD There are many ways: 1. Suppress all others: It is important to work with the scene browser for this work. In the scene browser you may suppress the Items you do not need individualy. Or in the scene with right klick "suppress"- find them again in the scene browser. With right click on any thing you will always find a delicious menue! IC is still missing: right click a part and choose: - suppress all others! 2. Sometimes I drag a part in any catalog and from there in a new scene. Unfortunately IC cannot copy paste parts between several scenes ( or drag and drop) 3. Drawing: Use the "update all scene" button. 4. There is a very nice button to switch between scene and drawing on the keybord (with 2 arrows left and right ). Remember: - you can only make drawings from saved or named scenes. - for better work with the scene browser: name the parts (click on them in the scene browser 2 times) and create named assemblies. Hope that helps. Best Carlo
  20. For unfolding complicate Loft Shapes I use Rhino: http://www.rhino3d.com/
  21. Hi David When starting with IronCAD it was strange to me always finding me stright in 3d. But after some time you`ll be used to do so. You will be happy cause it is so powerful! Easiest way is to take a block or a zylinder from the Catalogs and modify them in the shape modus (maybe first rightclick, properties and activate handles/ or right click cross section; change lines) Right click, Smart dimensions and Triball will do the rest. Good luck Carlo
  22. Some Questions to the Dudes: Have Kernel been updated in 6.0? And if is there a change in Quality between them? In my case: I`ve been always using Parasolid for face editing cause it worked better. But now I see that in some cases Acis seems to be better. So is there a list of compare between them? And it was announced that in IC 6 also Granite would be emeded. How about it?
  23. I suggested this long ago. With cubes I was lucky on the face level. One decal = one face works nice. Is there a chance to get some more freedom in next issue? ( 2or 3 decals par face)
