Thanks to both
Keith, I do all my unfoldings in Rhino since years, which works great now.
Attention: STEP or Iges ex-import may be different, test of the unfolding via 3d lines.
Meanwhile even dxf export for the Laser cutter works well.
I tried the Rhino integration about one year ago but was not so lucky for my operations (unfolding) so I still work via export.
Cary, this is very nice thanks, but I would not be able to produce that cause I wont be able to unfold it.
All my work is from metal-sheet.
Please see as well my new suggestion for developable surfaces.
I think Rhino has this option
well it is hard to work with Rhino if youre used to handle with the comfort of IronCad
By the way: Here is Rhino better:
dxf Export (which works perfect even with layers)
Handling of lines (Iron Cad: Cross-section): Better view of large diameters when zoomed to detail, better zoom, better: cut, extend; offset of Bsplines gives one line (IronCad makes 1000 lines). Maybe this is cause its Nurbs?
Unfolding including the bending lines.
For the whole rest Iron Cad is perfect: Very Intuitive, Easy of use, positioning, Handling of shapes, parts and surfaces

.just the missing tools!
