  1. Thanks Tom Did you ever use it? It looks as if this is just for VRML Best Carlo

Cary These are real good news! Is there already a list with the features around? Thanks Carlo
  3. Is there a free viewer for Mac around? Thanks Carlo
  4. Tom That's an interesting one, thanks too. Still there is no face with 3 outlines. And which was the moment where it became a solid? Filled up with material? Could you post the file? I sometimes like to play through that. Thanks Carlo
  5. Cap from Ellipse is one of my ERs. ...as I remember this is not possible in IC. I would try it as a loft shape.
  6. Thanks to both Keith, I do all my unfoldings in Rhino since years, which works great now. Attention: STEP or Iges ex-import may be different, test of the unfolding via 3d lines. Meanwhile even dxf export for the Laser cutter works well. I tried the Rhino integration about one year ago but was not so lucky for my operations (unfolding) so I still work via export. Cary, this is very nice thanks, but I would not be able to produce that cause I won’t be able to unfold it. All my work is from metal-sheet. Please see as well my new suggestion for developable surfaces. I think Rhino has this option…well it is hard to work with Rhino if you’re used to handle with the comfort of IronCad By the way: Here is Rhino better: dxf Export (which works perfect even with layers) Handling of lines (Iron Cad: Cross-section): Better view of large diameters when zoomed to detail, better zoom, better: cut, extend; offset of Bsplines gives one line (IronCad makes 1000 lines). Maybe this is cause its Nurbs? Unfolding including the bending lines. For the whole rest Iron Cad is perfect: Very Intuitive, Easy of use, positioning, Handling of shapes, parts and surfaces….. ….just the missing tools!
  7. Hi I want to extend an existing Object (blue); I want smoothly/tangential connected faces which I can unfold. On the other side I want to melt it over to a new geometry. …which means Start and End section has the geometry of the existing object while the part between is different. Maybe I am creasy? So Dudes and Cracks: is this possible in any way?...or am I a fantast? The sample shows in which direction it might go (two grey ears). One point to start was to create Isoperimetric Curves from existing object. ( It is in 7.0 SP2! …and press edit at the first upcoming dialog box) The stainless-steel object is to see here (made with Iron Cad): http://www.carloborer.ch/index.php?catinde...jpg&lstyle=hell 346_test.ics
  8. Tom I vote for: 60% Customer Driven - 40% New Innovation And second: 80% my suggestions - 20% other suggestions Best Carlos
  9. ...at the end I was able to create from the section plane a 2d shape and from that an extrude shape ....which worked! Just a big work around!
  10. Here is my test file. My Nivida Card seems to have a big problem with it as soon as I have the section plane activated. Bug_Test.ics Bug_Test.ics
  11. Here is my test file. My Nivida Card seems to have a big problem with it as soon as I have the section plane activated.
  12. Thats it thanks Stery I was trying the same just a view minutes before, but I created a total break down! ( something with the section plane) I had to cut the cable! I'll try to reproduce that. But this looks great! Thanks Carlo
  13. Thanks Keith I was afraid to get that answer! (its a sweep not a loft shape) I should measure the arcs! Means the Radius of the tubes, not its diameter Thanks anyway. Carlo Here is a strong limitation of IC! Is this problem on the ER List for 8.0 ?
  14. I should make drawings from that part for production. I was not able to measure anything! Wether diameter nor radius works. Any ideas? The shape is a sweep shape from 3 Radius Thanks
  15. Thanks Floris The way is different: Loft shapes from IC right click to create faces export them with Step or Iges to Rhino unfold if possible export via dxf/dwg to IC Control: mesure them with 3d lines Cut in sheet sizes export from drawings as dxf I playd with that laminadesign too it looks fantastic....a plugin like that to IC would be paradise! By the way they have a "face pencil" like I asked some years ago as an ER, they use it as a cut tool. The funny thing: after using it for some tests it does not work anymore...must be the test version?
  16. Thanks Floris ....& Yes I know an easy to learn and intuitive CAD, which looks very good! unfortunately development has others Ideas than me I will try that too. Actualy I fight between IC and Rhino to unfold with wrong Step`s and the dubble lines on the dxf`s, Daily Horror
  17. Yes I thought the same! I wonder how good it works!
  18. Has someone tried this already? http://www.laminadesign.com/index.html
  19. Here you'll find a nice sample for a ventilator blade which will be pressed from steel sheetmetal: Made from 2 Loftshapes with an X-crossed Blend between. Then the thicken Face command. Parasolid works better here than Acis. A Iron Cad user may do this in only 10 minutes! Have fun Rotor.ics
  20. I have this often! I rotate the view or zoom in or out, which helps in most of the cases. But sometimes its hard to catch the handle.
  21. Ill try! Many Thanks Carlo
  22. I am on the way to buy a new HP 4200,3.4 GHz workstation: there are to graphics cards in dicussion: ATI Fire GL V3100, 128MB or NVIDIA Quadro FX1300, 128 MB which is the better one? is it a big step from my old: NVIDIA Quadro Ti-4200 PP Ultra/750-8X-XP 256 MB sounds all like chineese to me! Is there a Hitparade for Graphics Cards with IronCad?
