Believe it or not I'm still having the same problem after I followed your instructions. The small lines I added look OK but if you go to print the problem is still there. I can only see it if I print though. I don't understand?
I'm attaching the drawing incase anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here.

In a nutshell, go to the Styles & Layers dialog box & make sure that the View Curves line style matches the line style for your Centerlines (since you are using view curves to connect the centerlines from two holes. It looks as though you currently have the default line type for view curves set to .50 mm Solid.
The reason to use Edit View, by the way, is that the added lines will then scale with the view. They don't actually connect with your dimension lines or centerlines, because those aren't in the view - they are on the sheet, (but not to be confused with sheet curves, since sheet curves have their own settings - I've always considered sheet curves "for looks only.")

The line style I have for Centerlines is Chain (nothing else available). The layer is dimensions (I added for a seperate layer). The line style for View Curves is 0.50mm Solid and layer is base.
There is no style option - Chain in view curves and there is no style option "0.50mm Solid" in the centerlines options. What would you suggest I do?

OK, seems like there should be a simple solution to this problem, so I am wondering what other IC users recommend or keep this in mind, should I forget about all this and install the new version/ CAXA Draft and use that instead? Please see the pdf attached.
So in the center of my drawing (pdf) I have a couple dimensions that are next to or almost on top of each other, so I've drawn draw a line (3 segments) around the two screw holes in the center to make it obvious that the dimension line goes around.
To add the three line segments I right clicked in the view and selected edit view. If I don't do that, I can't connect the segments to the ends of the center lines... matter of fact I'm not sure they all connected this way either, but at least I can get closer.
Next problem:
Another problem with the 3 line segments is... even though they look the same width they print out almost twice as wide as the center lines they're connected to so it looks like hell along with all the other dimension lines in the drawing. I think they are printing out at .500mm compared to .300mm for the center lines connected and other dimension lines here. You can see it on the pdf if you zoom in.
Alright, so I select the line to see what type... first of all I have to right click and go back to edit view before I can rt click on the line segments to see what type they are... Finally I get the line segments set to "Chain" like the center lines they are attached to. Doesn't matter... the line width is still incorrect, even though it says it's .30mm it has a style saying it's .50mm solid (2). Still looks like .50mm is whats printing out.
Well, been here before.................................... can anyone or better yet does anyone even want to attempt to explain the correct way to do all of this? or should I forget about it and install the new version aka: CAXA Draft?
The drawing part of this hasn't ever been user friendly too me. I have high hopes for the new version. Any ideas, suggestions?

I'm using Space Pilot and noticed some similar problems like the complete assembly disappearing and it doesn't seem to come back until I close and reopen. Really frustrating... I didn't think this might be a controller issue until now.
I don't drag parts out from the catalogs (very often) and instead keep my parts in folders listed by part number and insert them from there when needed. Also don't seem to be re-using my parts very often, so I can't tell you I have the same problem with catalog parts unless maybe I test it out some more.
Another thing that leads me to believe there's a problem with the controller... When I open a large assembly and move the assembly around before it's completely loaded IronCAD will glaze over and stop loading the assembly or lock up and force me to close.
I had an issue getting the controller to load when I was using Parallels (not using anymore). At that time 3Dconnexion said there would be a new driver after Windows 7 was released. Hopefully that will fix all of this.

I would have to agree with that... I think running 2 separate boxes worked best for me and when I had that setup it was great, besides that how much does it cost to buy another PC now days?

After experiencing this in the opposite direction running Windows XP on a virtual machine so I could use Mac OSX with email and other needed applications. I don't see any reason to bother. This worked for a while until I lost the IronCAD license in the VM and I could only use IronCAD in Boot Camp anyway where it should be. That's another problem in itself.
I think you'll find it's better only using Windows 7 by itself and not using a virtual machine running another OS. I don't see any benefit and it seems to me like it would take more resources to run the VM with all the other apps than it would running everything in one OS.
Anyone else?

I will second that for the most part and minus some problems trying to run IC on the Mac in Parallels. IronCAD is running good for me in Windows 7 (Boot Camp) and I skipped Vista... thanks!

Do you think repair would fix this or should I wait till you post another beta?
and then for Windows 7 that would mean to install V11 (Vista version) and then install the PU1 HF1 installation package.
Just want to make sure... there's also the separate files for PU1 and HF1 various Windows OS listed in the downloads.

I do have another problem with the parts in that file. When I highlight a threaded hole, right click and select "add-on-properties..." the pop up for holes does not come up.
I am attaching one of the parts. I have the same problem with several parts in that same sene.
I attached one of the simple parts, I can not get to the properties on any of the holes, thru w/counter bore or the threaded holes.

I'm having the same problem...I have to replace holes for now because the properties won't come up.
Sent files to IronCAD... Using v11 x64 /PU1 & HF1, Win 7 x64, Mac Pro, Boot Camp.

Seem to be OK after I deleted the assembly and put another one in the right place...
Don't know what was going on there?

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
I opened an assembly and noticed a part sub-assembly in the wrong place.
When I go to move it in place with the triball nothing happens.
I can see a dimension change on the tribal but I can't move the part whatever I do. Also tried... regenerate, recreate, and restarted.

I've been wondering about this so while I'm at it... how can you tell IC save's a back up?
Is it always automatic or is there a setting to turn it on?

Have you solved your problem yet? I had one idea that worked for me on a previous install but I would try this last. You can repair the installation if you go to add remove programs in the control panel. Go to IronCAD and select: click here for support info and there should be a repair option. You should probably have the install disk in the drive if you try it.

I just tried IronCAD on a G5 Mac Pro. I was just going to say that you have to run Boot Camp to have IronCAD support but I see Kevin was here. With Boot Camp you need a seperate partition for Windows and have to reboot from MacOS to run IronCAD but it doesn't take very long to reboot this as compared to what I'm used to. I haven't tried Boot Camp yet and I see now it might not support more than 2 GB.
I heard that Parallels has gotten better and so far I've only tried IronCAD this way and it worked fine until I tried to open a large file. Haven't spent much time on it, but I might do some more testing if I get more memory... after I find out about bootcamp.
I always thought IronCAD should be running native on a Mac for things like the in context design it would be a good match and I don't like rebooting Winblows... but the 64 bit OS sounds good after what Mike just said. I also heard something about a new version of Windows coming out is suppose to be much better... well I would hope so.

I think those are good suggestions and it might be a good idea to make a note of the old drivers that work before you remove them.
NVidia's site is not up to date because when I went to download drivers and selected "Partner Certified" I get a driver that doesn't have my card listed even though I selected my card in the search.
When I asked them about this a couple times over a long span of time... yesterday they finally told me about this certified driver and said the website wasn't up to date to show it. So that led me to believe that it was new but obviously that doesnt look like the case.
To NVidia's credit though... at least I've gotten better responses from them and they didn't completely throw away a question of mine like their largest competitor has and then close the ticket I started without a response when I had serious problems.
Personally... I cannot recommend any other brand after that other video card quit working correctly when I updated IronCAD and it basically went out of date with no driver updates while they removed IronCAD from the approved list for that card after about 2 years.
The NVidia card has been working fine and I have noticed improvements with driver updates.

I wouldn't have except for the fact that this is the only driver "for IronCAD" on their site that has my card listed... works good so far. They said the site just hasn't been updated. Interesting though the date on the installed driver says 2/1/2008.

Incase anyone is interested...
There's a new driver not posted on the NVidia website yet. I was told this is certified for IronCAD on WinXP.

I also saw one there for XP 64 and Vista with the same number.

Looks like that was it. If I turn off "use zero-width lines" in sheet setup now dimension lines look all the same width, and this didn't help but it looks like "use zero-width line" in the print dialog box controlls the other lines in the drawing. Hmmm... have to remember that next time the printout looks different than the screen?
