How is the list in your bom populated. Is it by the order you place them in your scene? All of the items that we use have part numbers associated to them and it would be great if you could sort a colum by ascending or decending so our parts are in numerical order instead of the order they currently are. If this is possible please let me know if not that would be a great addition to ic9 thanks Brian

I would also like the 2d lines to show when switching to precise mode. I would always stay there if I didnt have to show 2d lines

change the my view quality for draft to precise just to edit the curves in the drawing. This is just one step that I hate in this program. I am not trying to render I am not doing any shading I just want to change the color of one line on my drawing. Sorry for the rant but it is driving me nuts today

It does nothing to the config itself but the bom does not show up with the correct number of counts. It still shows all the things that are suppressed but if you dont have the check mark beside them then they will still be in your bom.

Why when I select multiple assemblies and supress them the check beside supress does not show up which in turn makes my config based bom not work. I have to go in and click on each top level assembly to make sure it is checked next to the word supress then it will work just fine. Is this a bug or just how it works. thanks I would love the config based bom if this worked correctly

I have customized a bom and I can save a template but I do not know where to save it to. Also I don't know how to call it back up once I save it since all greys out when you pick template instead of the default bom. What I want is for it to show up next to my default so I can pick it if I would like. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for the help. Brian

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the short cut keys for the change link command ctrl+shift+l or the view quality ctrl+shift+b to just a single letter. Thanks b-

Does anybody know if you can hatch in the drawing using the geometry from your view. I know you can draw a shape and hatch that but I want to use the perimeter of one of the shapes in my view. thanks any help would be appreciated

does anyone know if there is as system variable that I can set up that once I add a arrowhead to the end of a line it always is at a certain number. I draw the same size arrowheads every time and this would be a time saver for me. Thanks if anyone can help. Brian

When saving the drawing it goes back and saves the scene first and then the drawing. Does anyone know if there is a check box that you can uncheck so that it does not always do this. I know I am taking life into my own hands by not saving the ics but when dealing with large drawings that I am only making changes to the drawing it would save on time to not to always have to save both at the same time. Please add text color control to the text control toolbar. They are only teasing us having all the other text control functions besides color. Oh and while they are at it spell check would be sweet! Thanks

Could anyone use 2 rows of catalogs like myself. @ my job we have tons of different product lines that we have in different catalogs. I have tried to put the ones I most commonly use to the top but it always seems that I need one in the middle or towards the bottom and the scroll arrows are so cumbersome. Does anyone else see the need for this also? Thanks Brian

just printing to the laserjet printer using the icon and not the cntrl+p. That sometimes locks up the computer too so I stay away from that one.

Just lost 2 hours of work due to an internal application error while printing a page. I know you all are going to say didn't you save before you tried to print but it would be great if we had somewhere to back-up from. thanks Brian

The right click export to pdf function in windows explorer on .icd files is a cool function in Ironcad. We do a lot of rendered views in our drawings. When you open the exported pdf the images look fine but when you go to print any rendered objects do not show up. We use this practice all the time, could someone please tell me a fix if there is one or hopefully IronCAD can fix it in their next hotfix. thanks Brian

To answer all posts at once. I came from an AutoCAD background Yes my company switched systems to IronCAD I am giving it a chance and they have come a long way from where they started. We do use IronCAD at my work different than other users I do believe in wich we use it for modeling and we also do multi-page layouts for sets of instructions using many configs, ole objects and pictures. What I was doing a couple of times when I crashed 1. I hit cntrl+P to print a pdf. Result- file gave me an error, locked and I lost all of my work from my last save 2. Tried to double click an ole object to edit it Result- error report, locked, lost all of my work Result 2- completely shut my machine down It is hard to say why saving is taking longer may be the larger file sizes I am working on a 3ghz machine with 3 gigs of memory and a 100 gig hd so I dont think it is my machine. I am not trying to just complain I just hate loosing my work and with the longer save times I have been experiencing it is hard to set my autosaves up.

I am a hesitant IronCAD user to begin with but now all the hassels and load times and increased save times this is getting kind of silly. I do like some of the improvements that they are trying to get to us but I crash now more than I ever did. Signed A disgruntled IronCAD user
