  1. just taking a crack at this..

not sure if this is correct.. but

24x100=2400 sq ft... about.. 345600 sq inches

you have 70 square inches.. adding all the perimeter areas of the box.. meaning

5x5 for top and bottom.. thats 50... then you have all the short sides at 5x1 which is 5.. and you have 4 short sides.. thats 6 sides altogether..

so you have 50 then another 20.. so thats where I am getting the 70 sq inches total..

345600/70 = 4937 boxes can be wrapped ???.. I think... but I have never had to do this before.. and that is line to line.. with no overlaping

    does this make sense.. ?

  2. HA.. tom you wish.. I seen your harley..no need to try and send a smoke screen..this is what it looks like.

Hey everybody.. this is toms harley.. took the pic myself.

    HA..HA..

  3. surely this has been covered.. how do you lock the position of the drawing views??.. I see an anchor on each view.. I noticed that when you put an object into the drawing.. you can actually lock this anchor on the object.. just the same way you would a part in a file.. just click on the anchor and "disallow drag"

needs to be just that easy with a view..

  4. point cloud into wildfire..

using it from both scan cameras and excell data from the civil engineers..

wouldn't want those neutrons to go through my office!!!

using pro is the first mistake.. maybe they will ?

  5. Thought at one time along with 3DS files we were able to import the .max files..

    Can't remember..

Is it me, or as time goes on .. this import option list is getting shorter..

Somebody at IC coming in after 10 and getting off before 5?... KEVIN !!!

  6. we need more handles on the dimensions..

meaning.. at the ends of the leaders, on all corners of the text and at the text end of the leader...

that way we will be able to slide the text around without going into the dime properties..

more handles would make moving dims around easier..

  7. Is this what you mean?

I just took a pyramid shape.. 3 degs to make it shallow..

then placed a sheetmetal on one side..

changed the sketch of the sheetmetal..

    put a bend on it..

made the bend flat with the other pyramid face..

    changed the next sheet.. etc...

will unfold.. just keep going around..

    trim excess...

then make a logical seam...not sure how you would cap or close off the end..

will be left with a square hole..

    pyramidsheetmetal.ics

  8. kevin.. I think he means like a pyramid.. shaped sheetmetal form..

sure you could.. as long as you are allowed to have a seam.. and some overlap..

but the unfold would not be a square...

if the intention is a formed part.. why not just take a solid pyramid and shell to the desired thickness?

does it have to be a sheetmetal part?

  9. Some time back can't remember who.. maybe within the past 2 years.. somebody mentioned a sheet metal program that could unfold and give the developed length of complex curved sheetmetal parts..

Think it came from one of the architect background users..

If I remember.. the web site of this product had some strange "y" shaped model..

    Anybody remember this?

  10. Hey Eric...

"part implosion"... what do you mean?...just wondering if I have ever run across that...

I have had parts or sections of parts disappear down to only a few features of the part... when I do a boolean operation.. .. all I have to do is simply "regenerate".. then everything comes back.. on occasion, I may have to switch kernels.. .

hope the "part implosion" isn't any worse than that.. like the "failed to save" error...
