Exciting to say.. I am working with NASA.. for the back to the moon and beyond project.. you know.. the new rocket to replace the shuttle... but sad to say.. been stuck working with Pro, and my be doing it along with some Ideas, Catia and little Solid Edge.. Really working to get IC in on this.. may have a way... then maybe this thing will actually work!!.. HA... Will be bringing my own station in next week.. so keep fingers crossed..

YEAH.. thats nice.. but sad to say.. can still be out squatted by an mildly warmed hyabusa or zx-14... power to weight ratio... not to mention price.. But.. that kind of stuff is for those super rich guys like you Tom... so if you buy one.. dont be surprised when I blow past you at 1/20th the cost... Score 1000 for the little guy.. Kind of like Pro-E vs IronCAD...

I think I remember having that problem.. and that is what I had to do.. any version after that I no longer had to go through that issue... yep because that Algor button in IC will stop working.. For a period of time I was importing step files until I got it figured out.. since if you change the geometry too much and have to do a re-mesh, you may loose all your constraints and loading locations anyway.. But after you upgrade to the next Algor release.. that loading issue will go away... Pain... you pay all this money ... programs need to work without a hitch.. should load themselves..

HA.. talk about over powered.. MAN.. that poor IC guy will get killed.. HA.. that 800 hp beast you made has some real issues.. Problems with turning.. think you are well beyond using a bar for steering Braking will be pitiful.. HA.. We are really headed for a spectacular crash... any last wishes?.. put NOS on it and I will drive it..

Isn't there a detection for interference for IC that will make the interference solids so you can boolean them later? I thought Kevin either sent me an addon.. or showed me where to get an addon that would do that... cant seem to find it.. think it was in some hidden files you could activate some DLL somewhere.. I am working a big project.. so I am still stuck on v8 ... get a little nervous about changing versions in a middle of a file.. so not sure if this option is in v9.

ProWorks... Solid-E HA... Wildfire 3... looks more like Solid Works everyday... not sure what makes PTC claim it is faster or even an improvement over WF2... they actually made claims of new features in WF3 that were already in WF2... still bugs.. more clicks in most cases.... For some reason.. in several cases, you have to click things twice to get it to accept the command.. The only cool thing.. is the interference detection... say for instance you have an assembly.. something that can move.. you can drag the component around some pivot point (if it has one.. or slider.. whatever).. and the interference points will show.. more area or less depending on the range of motion... Still slower to set up than IC.. heck you can do it with triball.. in WF you have to go through and set up all constraints... Haven't seen what new things they may have done with their WF tri-sphere just yet.. its only available in the special surfacing functions deep.. deep.. deep in the menus.. WF is still inconsistent in any particular direction.. really becoming a mass of different Pro-E versions along with Solid Works... Drawings looks like one thing.. modeling looks like another.. surfacing another.. sheetmetal yet another..

We use it ... MDTG... rave reviews for Algor full package and IC together... Possible contract comming up where will be using IC, Algor for a customer that uses Catia... cant wait to see how it will all work out..

Pro-E makes really big drawing sizes also.. add a section view.. and you may not be able to open it again on a large assembly... no difference on a 64bit machine.. that they said would work

each kernel imports and exports differently... affect the import and export files differently.. from color.. to naming convention etc.. parts and assemblies..

HA.. yeah.. really.. forced to be hooked on pro-e.. I run my laptop with the desk top.. IC and Algor.. then Pro and Mechanica.. day in and day out.. Insanity follows shortly after.. the pro/mechanica session..

USE IRONCAD" OR "GO WITH THE DESIGN PROCESS FLOW" maybe show some unhappy .. straining fish.. in another caption.. and say (typical Pro-E user)... you know.. designing against the current.. HA.. maybe a pic that has a fisherman.. with a hook with a little sign "ALL YOU CAN EAT .. PRO-E"... then say.. "DON'T GET HOOKED.. " HA!.. of course meaning.. SUCKERED.. BAMBOOZLED.. CHEATED.. SCAMMED...

Cant seem to get my catalog to attach.. Misch electrical stuff something is up with the connection.. or something.. keep getting an error page.. every so often, kevin removes my permission... guess he thinks its funny.. .. so I will wait a few .. then try again.. when he is at the coffee machine..

I guess.. other than setting up a drawing and creating a BOM.. is there a way to get the part count or number of components in a scene?.. Is there some dialog box somewhere that can give me this info?
