Leonardo Computer Systems in England has developed a new flexible BOM / listing and quotation generator (CADlister) which works with IronCAD. It will produce any sort of list that you like, formatted exactly how you like in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. If you are fed up with continually re-entering data, and adding custom properties, this is the program for you. CADlister is very flexible because all the information on each part (there can be as many items as you need - ie Material, Supplier, Weight, Cost, Description etc etc) is held in an external Excel data table. That means that you only only enter part data once and you only need need fill in a single field in the IronCAD part properties (say part no). When you run the program, it takes all the information from the pre-prepared Excel data table and places only the requisite data in your custom Excel layout table. You can use all the power of Excel to make final calculations (such as weight, cost, cutting sizes and totals) and produce your output in any form that you like. We use CADlister to produce extended Bill of Materials and Quotations from IronCAD, and other CAD programs. Indeed because it is an external program that you can run with a single click from the taskbar, it can take output from any program that produces simple lists. Because it can use as many different data tables and 'layouts' , the output can be in any format you desire. You can have a series of saved layouts, and it will produce the the selected Excel layout with a single mouse click. CADlister costs $199, and we will be putting a free limited version with some examples onto our web-site soon.
