rsaucier
I have a customer that rolls a lot of tank cylinders. Because of the process of how tanks are rolled, you will always have a flat spot on the front and back of the plates due to the distance between rolls before the material "catches" both rolls. To eliminate the flat spots in the tanks, they add extra material when cutting the tank wall, roll the tank, and then cut the flats off to have a perfectly round cylinder. He would like the option to add stock to the flat pattern and have it remembered. Currently, you can add stock, but as soon as the scene updates, the added stock is lost. So I have two questions. 1) Is anyone else using this same process and would find it helpful for IronCAD to "remember" adding stock to the unfolded part. 2) Does anyone currently have a work around other than modifying the exported dxf? It is important that if a change is made to the tank, the flat would still update and retain the additional length. Also, the work around would be fine in icd and does not necessarily have to be in the scene. Any help or thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
