jkostrica
Hello, IronCad web Viewer doesn't work? I used Firefox. When I put the file the web viewer is not loading the model??? Where is the problem? Many thanks,
IronKevin
For user's who have Windows Regional Settings that use a comma for the decimal places this problem occurs. I will send you some hotfix DLLs to apply to your system or you can wait for the soon to release Service Pack 1. Please send an email to support@ironcad.com so I can get your email address and I will get you a link to download the DLLs.
Cary OConnor
If you are using the local file, you need to click on the open ic N on the bottom and select the zip file. It acts as a general viewer that can open multiple files. The server file will automatically open the file.
tlehnhaeuser
Is there a way to get the viewer to accept the decals and textures?
Cary OConnor
we can add in the future but the issue becomes data size and possibly memory especially an issue for Mobile devices. Cary
B. Ludin
I can't get models to load in Chrome (under Win10pro). The loading progress bars shows up but stays empty forever. Same files work fine with Firefox and Edge. Any ideas what this could be? (IC2018SP1) Edited February 26, 2018 by B. Ludin
IronKevin
What are your Windows Regional Settings set to?
IronKevin
I tested on Windows 10 using IC2018SP1 and the latest version of Chrome (all under German-Switzerland regional settings) and it worked fine. You could try updating your Chrome.
B. Ludin
Windows Regional Settings are set to English (US). Chrome is up to date.
IronKevin
Can you send us your Scene .ics file? Maybe it's a problem specific to the file.
B. Ludin
it's not fiel-specific in my hands. Just made a new scene from scratch. Shows the same problem. I have dropped it in the mail for you
IronKevin
It looks like you might have used the Server Deployment option, try Local Deployment.
B. Ludin
Ok,local deployment works now. I had tried it earlier on (pre-SP1), and then it didn't work either. Anyway, what we need is server deployment. And the rendering in Chrome looks very bad. No edges, hardly any shading.
IronKevin
Server deployment will work in Chrome if the files are put on a web server (not opened on a local desktop). As for rendering quality, that may be something we can improve in the future. Here's some videos showing local and server deployment: Local: Server:
Cary OConnor
If you are selecting low quality, that will impact the edges as well. If you are always opening on a desktop, don't select that option and select High Quality on open of the file. Cary
IronKevin
Here's the High Quality results in my Chrome using your Scene, I see all edges and the shading is OK. Maybe we could have options but I think for general viewing this should work fairly well.
B. Ludin
Now I get the same result as you. I must have accidentally hit the lowQ button. Sorry for the false alarm. Would you happen to know why the web deployment from file doesn't work with Chrome, while it does with other browsers?
IronKevin
Server Deployment probably doesn't open locally on Chrome due to some security setting that the other browsers don't use, we aren't exactly sure what that is though.
