  1. Figured out the issue. It is not that the functionality does not work, it is that the variable name does not work. height cannot be used to describe a variable, even if you want to set it to be the height, changing it seems to work, if I Name it Extrudeheight instead it works fine.
  2. In IronCAD 2017 I was able to drive lengths of extrusions by parameters. IronCAD 2018 has lost this functionality. See Attached. I am unable to set the extrude Depth to be equal to the variable. 2017 worked in this regard, 2018 does not. Please restore this ASAP. Thank you,
  3. So I ran into an interesting phenomenon while working in IronCAD. I am drawing a gate that has a 3/4" Expanded Flattened Mesh welded onto it. As I have not found a tool or way to easily draw this, I drew a flat 1/8" Sheet, and made it semi transparent. In order to get the right weight on the material, I was trying to change the mass density of the product and multiply it by the %Opening of the mesh. 3/4" Expanded Flattened Mesh is 68% Open, Aluminum has a mass density listed as 0.044 KG/In3, so with 68% Open I tried to change the field to say 0.014 KG/In3. Any Value I entered in the mass density field, was divided by a factor of 2.2, which made working with this field kind of frustrating. Is there some options check box or property I can change so that it allows me to enter a value, and it uses the value I enter? Edit: I am running IronCAD 2017, I have not tested yet if this happens in IronCAD 2018.
  4. Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. I cannot get it to work in the 2017 version, but when I used the file attached to this it does work. Needless to say I wonder why, but knowing that this is a known issue and fixed in 2018 helps. This is not a major issue, just something I do/deal with every time I use the program. Patrick
  5. I have been unable to find a way to shut the perspective camera (Button F9) Off by default. I find it to be an annoying and not helpful view when I am building parts in Ironcad, but every time I open a new scene, the first thing I have to do (or something I always do a minute or two after starting to draw) is shut off the perspective Camera. Is there a way to turn it off by default. I have tried saving a new template, that has it turned off, but every time I create a new scene using that template, it is back on. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Patrick
  6. So I am building a template for a picket panel that goes level then down at a stair angle. the top and bottom rail are made using structured sweeps, and the pickets are filled in using a tribal linear pattern. the only issue comes when I want to change the stair angle, because the tribal pattern will not update the angle of it to match the angle of the top and bottom rail when they change. My work around right now is to delete the pattern, change the tribal orientation to match the stair angle and then repattern it, but I am wondering if there is a better way. Any suggestions for things I may try?
