HDEAR
Hi, I am getting more and more projects where the main building file is in Revit with the file extensions .ifc I can't import these into IC. Is there any plan to be able to import ( and export to ) Revit files in the future? Meanwhile is there any trick I can use to import these? Thanks Edited August 16, 2017 by HDEAR
IronKevin
Revit is an architectural package and we are focused on the mechanical side of things so I think it is unlikely that we will do a Revit import. Can Revit export to .sat or any of the other neutral formats we import?
jolizon590016
This might not be be the ideal scenario, request the the client to export Revit models to Inventor or .dxf and the documentation to AutoCAD formats. Kitchen, ventilation equipment and building mechanical is being passed as standard Revit files now days. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revi...-own-Revit.html https://www.autodesk.com/viewers/all-viewers I think we need a bridge to get Revit to IC or else IC users will be alienated and lose possible client base. Autodesk got lucky with the purchase of Revit as originally it was not their product and AutoCAD was behind to have a BIM solution. SSIMMONS
Yeah, this .ifc import was something we were pushing for several years ago and they got it done pretty fast. We have several clients that have MASSIVE files and .ifc files were a nice mix of functional and smaller sized. Mostly we use them for importing structures and doing machine layouts etc.
