  1. Have you tried a simple block, with set screws/bolts? It's technically linkage. But, without a mechanism description, your request is rather vague.
  2. I am trying to place a sleeve over a tube/pipe. The sleeve has an I.D. which is wider than the tube/pipe. Also, when the sleeve was created, i made sure to create it above the existing tube/pipe, then lower into position, using the Tri-ball. Unfortunately, as i lower the sleeve into position, the tube/pipe is either hidden, or gets chopped down. Do I have an interaction setting incorrectly set? Or, can someone tell me what i am doing wrong? TIA
  3. I'm trying to make a custom 'T' fitting/manifold by trimming the pipe, which is perpendicular, using the I.D. of the single long pipe (the one having all of the tubes sticking out of it). I have tried the Library version of the pipe, then i tried using a cylinder with an HCylinder inside. And, I also tried using the Innovative version, and finally the structured version seen here on my example. Can someone show me how to do this, please? TIA
  4. Can someone explain to me how to use the smart dimension tool, or the vertical dimension tool? I have looked at the F1 Help menu, searched the user community forum and can only find descriptions of their functions, not how to actually use them. The attached files show what I'm running into. When I use either of these commands, I highlight an edge (because I want to get a dimension from that particular axis) then highlight another edge (because it represents the vertical distance I want to measure). Unfortunately, both commands yield unreliable results. I have tried picking a point and going to an edge, and vice versa. The cursor seems to pick up a point on the highlighted edge, wherever the cursor is placed, rather than snap to the axis, itself (as it does, when I use the TriBall). TIA ------------- Also, can someone help me return my options menus to probably more normal settings? I was having some issues (rusty, from not using IC, in awhile), and made some changes, because I thought I remembered how to do something, and blamed it on the software settings (yeah, I know...the settings didn't change themselves during that hiatus. LOL) TIA, again!!
  5. I have been trying to create a drawing from a simple plate, I designed in the 3D scene. I created this plate, having different holes at different locations. Unfortunately, when I open a new drawing, the standard views create a skewed part, and when I try to manually change the front view by reducing the angular increments, the result is an exercise in futility. The process becomes a trial and error issue, which usually results in me scrapping the drawing, and attempting another shot, over an over again! Because of this skewed relationship, the holes are not centered, and even when I use Smart Dimension, i don't trust that the program is placing the green dot in the correct location on the drawing. In fact, I have already run into an issue where attempting to smart dimension (locate) a particular hole, from different sides, the sum of the parts distance was less than the total distance. I have tried the General view, as well, and continue to struggle. I would appreciate if someone could help me out. Thanks in advance!!
  6. The problem I am having with the Triball, is the inability to control the direction of part placement. I highlight an axis to move the part on, I right click and start my move in a certain direction, choose an edge, or a point, or some other placement option, and the Triball goes in the opposite direction. I have tried changing the direction of the green arrows to no avail. I tried putting a bi-directional constraint on the assembly (just guessed), and still no control over direction. And, I must have tried every Triball handle, and option several times, before giving up, and coming here. Another issue I am noticing, is when I want to move a part with the Triball, to a intersect with another part, I can't get the parts to intersect at edges, faces, etc. The part will go a little bit into the other shape, and NOT come out, no matter what I try to do. Admittedly, it's been awhile since I last had an opportunity to use the software, but as I remember, this was some easy work to perform. Thanks in advance!!
  7. Is there a reason why I can't skip nodes, or edit individual nodes within the pattern? I copied the lower plate from the top plate. I added a holes array to the top plate, and was able to skip nodes. However, when i created the array for the bottom tray (Cylinder sticking up), I got the full array, without the ability to skip the unwanted nodes!! TIA
  8. Well, please excuse my inexperience. I unlinked two parts, and things started working again. As a side note, now that I have gotten rid of all of those Assembly Feature issues, IronCAD is working again, without all of the regeneration issues from my other post. Thanks!!

  10. I am in the process of making changes to my design, as it was pointed out to me, by tech support, that the reason for my slow regeneration issues were the result of hole placed as assembly features on my scene (separate issue). Everything was going fine with my changing and redoing things to rid myself of all of the assembly features, until the Product Update this morning! Now, when i place a shape, it may, or may not decide to stay there. It also happens with holes. In addition, whole sections of a part will disappear, and the undo/redo doesn't work when these things happen. Another issue, is when I drop a block onto another block, as a separate part, the program automatically makes it a part of the attached part. So, now, instead of having 2 distinct parts, i have one really weird shaped part (because it is 2 combined parts, instead of the 2 individual parts). Also, when I stretch a part, sometimes I get the indicated green location marks, and sometimes I don't. However, if I keep an eye out for the cursor, it will tend to drop where the cursor is placed, even without the green indicator (actually, just discovered this). I have found myself just closing the program without saving, as I don't want to, inadvertently, undo the work I have done to it.
  11. BTW, here are some system info screenshots, but in all honesty, all I REALLY have is an expensive paper weight.
  12. Okay, I've tried everyone's suggestions (including the regedit above). I'm running W10 Home. I uninstalled all known MS/Windows updates that I am allowed to uninstall. I uninstalled all programs from March and April, as I was unsure of when I first noticed the issue. I just got done uninstalling and reinstalling ALL of IronCAD including the CAXA stuff. I set updates to be manually downloaded by me (W10 doesn't allow me to just turn off updates!). I manually downloaded updated NVidia drivers this past weekend. And, I'm NOT getting any hardware issues showing up! I've removed shading and colors. And, my design is NOT complicated, nor large! IT'S STILL DOING IT!!! I'm at a loss for what to do next!!! I'm posting screenshots of how my Options are configured, as my production has essentially come to a halt!! I almost forgot, there was an Intel driver for the integrated graphics card (i have one in the CPU, and a dedicated NVidia GPU 1070). I removed it, also, as there were issues mentioned online, and it WAS working fine without it, so I figured what the hell...get rid of it, too. My machine is, ALMOST, at the point at which I bought it, back in early January of this year. I'm losing my mind!
  13. It was set to OpenGL, so I changed it to DirectX9; Same problem. Next, I maintained DirectX9, and changed the part option from "regenerate the part automatically TO "wait to regenerate until the part is deselected"; No change - just changed WHEN regeneration occurred. So, I set back to automatically regenerate part, while maintaining the DirectX9 setting. Any other ideas?? TIA
  14. Not sure what I did, but I noticed a change a few weeks ago, which has been driving me crazy! Every time I make a change to a part, or move a part, the screen regenerates itself. This has slowed my production considerably, and has removed the joy from using IronCAD! This is NOT something that has gotten worse as a drawing got more complicated, it's something that just started one day, and I can't turn it off. I have a quick laptop, which I bought specifically for IronCAD, and updated the NVIDIA GPU drivers, and still have to stop for about 20 to 30 seconds, while the scene updates itself. Is there something that I unknowingly changed? Is there a work-around for this? HELP!! TIA
  15. I'm working on my first 'project', and I have to go back and fill in the part descriptions, etcetera, for the BOM. Unfortunately, all similar fasteners are individually populating the BOM. When I try to manually 'force' them into one row by changing the quantity, and erasing all of the extra parts, they all reappear when I log back onto my computer. How do I get this to correctly populate the BOM, so as to avoid multiples of the same part from clogging the BOM?? TIA
