Cary OConnor
Hi All, Due to the upgrade in the Hoops version in IronCAD V10, some of the past viewers are no longer available for IronCAD files. As we plan for our future viewer support, I would like to offer the following options for viewing IronCAD data. Thanks Cary Internal Viewing of IronCAD Data (Within your organization) IronWeb Publishing - When viewing files within your internal organization, you can share data using the External Viewing methods (below) or you can use the IronWeb publishing. IronWeb publishing can be used to publish a selected folder of files to an HTML file that has property information, thumbnail previews, and an ActiveX free viewer. This allows you to publish a set of files that can be posted on an intranet for viewing. External Viewing There are various options on viewing IronCAD data outside your organization with suppliers, customers, etc. When sharing outside of your organization, normally you may not want to send the native IronCAD scene files due to security and due to the file size in emails. One of the following options may be best for this case: 3D PDF Export You can export parts and assemblies as 3D PDF to be viewed in the free Adobe Reader 8.1.1. PDF offers additional capabilities like Markup when you purchase the Adobe 3D PDF option. Note: Large data size assemblies are slow in 3D PDF format, but small assemblies and parts work well. HSF Viewers You can download a free HSF viewer from http://download.spatial.com/viewer/ACISHOO...315_install.zip. You can simply export any part or assembly as HSF from within IronCAD and send the small viewable file to any customer with the link to the free download. The HSF file is highly compressed so this is a valid work around. This viewer does offer simple measurement options and it works well with larger assembly data. Simple HTM File You can export your IronCAD scene in the lightweight HSF format and send the HSF and a HTML file in an email to any user to view the HSF file. Attached to this post is a sample HTM file and a sample HSF file. Edit the HTM file to put in the desired text and change the Sample.HSF tags (two of them) to the name of the file you export. The user can save the two files to their system and open the HTML file to view the HSF file. They will need Internet access to download the free ActiveX control (you need to allow the pop-up for the ActiveX control). Bjorn Andersson
What is recommended today? Easy to use but with a little more opportunities than 3dpdf. Compose only seems to downloaded with the entire collaboration suite. It´s not an option for my customers.
